1.e4!! is a forced win for white

Avatar of KillaBeez

Really?  Show me.  Have you indeed found the secret to chess?

Avatar of KnightlyKing

i dont think e4 is a forced win..d4 has a higher pecentage win for white but it is still not forced

Avatar of sstteevveenn

Before you give up on 1.e4, have you tried the alapin, or do you always play open sicilians?  Just a thought.

Avatar of KnightlyKing

i never play e4  now only d4

Avatar of benacostian

I prefer e4 and then develop both Knights with a Pawn.

Avatar of army_of_noobs

what i play depends on my mood

Avatar of chaosshaun

Personally e4 because there are all sorts of fun traps in the Ruy Lopez. not to mention that the sicilian is oh so fun...

Avatar of KillaBeez

Actually, I play e4 against really bad players because I can knock them out with a quick tactic easier.

Avatar of KnightlyKing

e4 has many traps in it

Avatar of jason1

e4 is the best opening move for beginer but grand master hate it

Avatar of KnightlyKing

i dont think beginners know all the traps like me and other tactics..e4 requires a tactical player but d4 is easier although im studying f4 now!

Avatar of jason1

d4 is the best move becuase it the first move that i learn in chess

Avatar of Ray_Brooks

Bobby Fischer always played 1.e4. He called it "Best by test." He played 1.e4 against everyone, every time.

Except in that one game with Spassky!

Avatar of KnightlyKing

yes but one must study it before playing because there are many traps and other vaiations in it

Avatar of sug_chess_puzzles

i play d4 currently but may be switching to e4 due to the amount of queen's gambits games i get and it is so broing and chess is about enjoying it.

Avatar of KnightlyKing

yeah d4 is a little boring

Avatar of KnightlyKing

f4 is also interesting but it requires some study like e4

Avatar of Elubas

I've tried f4, but if you feel like attacking e4 is probably best. I like the scotch game and ruy lopez. It is true that not much generally happens in a queen's gambit declined. Still, white usually has the advantage.
