Disrupting the London system… your thoughts?

this is how I try to deal with the London system and it has given me good success. I always go for Indian game with 1…nf6 in response to d4. I go right to c6 to allow for my queen to harass his undefended pawn abandoned by the early development of the dark squared bishop. This will mess with my opponents “system” approach and allow me to set up a nice queen side attack in order to make my opponent respond to me instead of developing his pieces passively. One my opponent defends the queenside attack as he did here I usually try to disrupt his strong dark squared bishop somehow. Here I found the very innefficient way of swinging my bishop around but he took the bait. I can always transpose into a Slav like position which I am very comfortable playing as I learned that first. What are some other tricks to deal with the annoying London and what do you think of this?

Rook_Handler

The typical London disrupting try is c5, not c6.

5. Nc3 is probably best but most London players are much too timid for that.

My thoughts, there are many ways to challenge the London System.

I jump between 1.Nf6 or g6 or b6 with success and fun.

@Rook_Handler has a strong point from what I have been seeing. It’s important to play actively and break thru one of the potential files for counter play; c5 being my first priority.

I think your result has less to do with the strength of your opening setup and more to do with the fact that you find a clear plan faster than your opponent does.

Anyways, I prefer hypermodern setups. They aren't the most challenging but I play them well enough.
