Your Caro-Kann and French lines are terrible. Your Sicilian and 1...e5 lines are fine.

Moscow is hardly weak. It just doesnt provide white any advantage. But equal position doesnt mean bad. Also I believe that your opponent blundered on move 13, simply Nd4 would keep position level.

Yes, 13.Nd4 is better than 13.h3.

HOWEVER - If you are White, and you have one move to keep the position level at move 13, and all other moves are bad, the opening was a complete failure for White.

Black should not equalize that easily!

@Airut In the game that you posted, white did not play the theoretically correct moves. Specifically, his move 9 was a wrong move order, as 9. Be3 is considered better. It prevents the tactic black is trying to go for with ...d5 because the knight on d4 will be defended.

weird.. I don't play e4 anymore altho I played it for some 20 years. Then I started playing d4, specifically the london system, and my rating is shooting up over 100 points in one year.

However, new openings isn't the only thing I do. I also use the chuzhakin system. I have no idea why I am winning. Today I was playing an 1927 ELO player and won relatively easily. I can honestly say I had no idea why.

Ok for example in chuzhakin its about creating hazardous situations for opponent as well as seeing and preventing hazardous situations for one self.

So I put my rook on seventh when I had the chance.. He didn't attack it but just left it there. The rook was attacking a piece on d7 but it was protected by the queen. Later I attacked it again with Bg4 and now he had to move it. With d7 out of the way f7 was attacked by the rook, so I play Qf3.. double attack. Then I attacked the other rook with Bf4( rook was on h6), and he played g5 with little thought. But it turns out I could just take g5. After he took again on g5 I had mate in five.

All my wins go like that. that is all I do. I go over the list, create hazards for opponent and try to prevent for me. Just feels weird if that is what wins for me. oO

@Airut, okay. True. I actually got my lines confused. 9. Be3 doesn't make sense. In any case, 9. f3 is a better try than what was played. Allowing Be3 w/o Ng4 and stopping the tactic.
