Good gambit idea! - But normally I would first prefer 1.Nf6
English Anglo-Scandinavian

Nf6 is my non-gambit response, but some chessmaster computer played this against me alot and i wondered wh it is not popular.

I agree. Play 2. Nf6 before c6. It makes him make a calculation of an eventual Nxd5, making him use more time. I think c6 is a very sound idea. Black will be ahead in development and will play Nxc6, e5, Nf6, Bd6 Qc7, 0-0, Bd7 or g4, and an eventual e4 with an initiative.

Not really. Black is fine in that position as well. He can play Bc5 and Qb6 followed by castling and putting his rooks on the open file and he is fine. This is the variation I was thinking of.

If Black trades off the light squared bishops, sometimes he can plop a piece onto d3 and White's dark squared bishop will be stationary for a LONG time :).

White does. My comments are all messed up with the board. It's my computer. White plays Qa4+ to keep the pawn. That way, Nxd5 is not allowed.

Mebeme, to answer your original question why 2 ... c6 is not popular is that it sacrifices a pawn and White has no appearant weakness. Some players don't like playing from behind from move 2. Hence, 2 ... Nf6 and if 3. Nc3 Nxd5 4. Nxd5 Qxd5 is more confortable since the Queen can't be attacked by a developing Knight move and Black doesn't have to give up a pawn.
Why is this not common? (but i dont agree with when he akes the pawn with his queen)
