can any one explain the english opening to me edward

uhh....no.

 

English is 1.c4!!  (queen bishops pawn forward 2 squares)

 

Look it up on wikipedia, and there are some excellent lectures on chess.fm concerning this opening. "The english opening according to botvinnik"

I tried all these out, found the ones i liked and could control, and went out and bought books about them. Its a good strategy.
