Rather than just insulting the opening, why not play him a game or two and show why it's poor?

 Unfortunately, studying openings like this can be good for recognizing patterns but does not take into account counterplay for black (assuming he does not just bounce a knight back and forth).

But as stated before, the only way to learn is to try it.
