for black i like the sicilian defense: old variation.

What are some good Ruy Lopez variations? Or should i not even use that opening?
The Ruy Lopez is a favorite of mine, so I'll show you my favorite variation.I also like the French, Grunfeld, and Kings indian attack and defence.

I agree with trigs, except I prefer 2.d6
Petroff defence as black!
I don't like the exchange variation as it often lead to draws.
I usually go mainline, but as Black I sometimes play 8. ... Bg4 on over the board games to mess up my opponent.
Im a new Chess.com and a fairly new competitive chess player. I am currently ranked 1100 from one tournament(U-1400) and i was wondering what is everyone's favorite openings to use? And which do you think work that others find unusual? Anyways, please post it with the position or game :D
