The alternative as I will show you now would have been much better for black.
Black's position is extremely comfortable. This was based on famous chess players, and yes, they did not always play the opening accurately. However, I am learning a lot from these old games, mostly, how not to play and the reasons why. The engine may say you are fine, but if the life of the position is sucked dry, why get into that kind of position in the first place, unless you are playing for a draw.
