There isn't such a case, I'm afraid. The best advice is to study rook endgames until you are a master of them :) Good luck
games without rooks
Rook endgames are the most common. Study rook endgames, it will increase your playing strenght. Yes, they are one of the hardest endgame types because it is often just a draw but you should know when it is a draw and when someone can win. You may sometimes just save the game by entering a rook endgame because you have good drawing chances a pawn down or occasionally 2.

i agree with both of them. the difference between a 1600 and 1800 maybe is as little as rook endgame knowledge. so definitely study them and don't detour around them :)

As folks have said, you must study rook endgames. In addition you could try 'retired chess', a variation of the game that only includes kings, pawns and rooks.

Hi Pulpo, do you have a link to where I can play ''retired chess'' - it sounds interesting! :) thanks

You can agree with your opponent together to remove all the rooks before starting the game. Agree to play these exact moves, for example. Now you don't have to care about the rooks! But you can no longer castle.

This is the only site I've been able to find. I've tried it some times, but only OTB. However, it seems like the rules are not very clear. In this site you only play with King and pawns, and promotions are only to Rook.

Definitely study rook endgames. Rooks are usually the pieces that get developed last because they are the hardest to develop most of the time because it's in the corner. Therefor they usually stay until the endgame. That's why you seem to be running into them more often. But yea definitely study rook and pawn endings
I always play bad in the game end. It is because i dont know how to use rooks. I just wonder if is there any case in which all the 4 rooks disappear while other pieces still exist.? If so, how can we play that game
