i mean the petrov is basically the caro but when you are playing e5 instead, annoying opening for white to win against
In the caro you can play the advance at least and it's not super boring

If you want to get crazy, you can play Nc3, and if they play Nc6 you can go for the Halloween gambit with Nxe4.
If you want a more solid position that isn't boring, I would suggest d4
