The reason you lost those games have nothing to do with the opening. You hung a piece in the first game.
Help with 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d5?! Sicilian Defense

3. exd5 Qxd5 4. Nc3. You have two minor pieces developed while black has zero, and you'll get a third one before black even gets one.
Yeah, you just get a big lead in development (take d5).
Maybe you will play poorly after that, and black catches up and the position is just equal, but it really shouldn't lead to a position where you feel uncomfortable as long as you're following opening principals.
Maybe post the games? I looked at your recent blitz losses and didn't see any sicilians.

Thanks for explaining 3.exd5 - better development. It looks like a Scandinavian, the trading of center pawns and White gaining a tempo on Black's queen. Game Explorer's top choice after 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d5 is 3.Nc3, but then Black has 3...d4, which forces 4.Ne2, blocking White's light squared bishop. Yuck! If Black plays 3...dxe4, then White gets a great game with 4.Nxe4, but you can't count on Black to make it that easy!
Lastly, for those who like playing the French Defense, I've seen games transpose from a Sicilian after 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d5 3.e5 e6 4.d4 Nc6 5.c3 - Advanced Variation

It looks like I can't post games on my iPad, unless I am doing something wrong. I actually came out of the opening ok in the first game - 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 e6 3.c3 d5 4.exd5 exd5 5.d4 cxd4 6.cxd4 - both sides ending up with IQP's! I blundered my rook on move 11.

Now I see where I went wrong. I was trying to play the Alapin Variation after watching a video and messed up the move order. That's why Black beat me to the break with the d-pawn. Geez!
I lost two blitz games today to a Sicilian Defense sideline I had never seen before. After 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d5, what would you play and why? Thanks!
