Hey guys so... i was messing around trying to analyze some sicilian positions on my irl board and then after the hundreth time i played for the open sicilian it dawned on me, why dont i try playing 3.e5 instead of the classic 3.d4? so i messed around with it a bit and then popped it up on stockfish and i found out its a pretty equal position my main line for this variation would be the following: 1.e4 - c5 2.Nf3 - d6 3.e5 - e6 4.Nc3 - Bd7 5.d4 - cxd4 6.Qxd4 - Nc6 7.Qf4 - dxe5 8.Nxe5 - Nxe5 9.Qxe5
To visualize:
I call this the Semi-open Sicilian since white has possibilities to build up a good position castelling queen-side and to develop various pieces fast with the disadvantage that the white queen got out relatively quick and with the possibility for black to get a strong center, stockfish says its equal and even tho im just 800 i belive it to be a good position for both white and black, can anyone tell me if it has already some kind of name the e5 part? Thanks ppl for reading and cya!
