As Black I've long shied away from the Sicilian since I don't know how I'm supposed to play without occupying the centre. When I found this variation in the French Sicilian I thought I might be able to play more in line with the basic principles of chess. But it doesn't seem to be very popular and doesn't score well in master games. Does the Marshall Counterattack play out well for you?
