How do I use SCID and CPT softwares for opening repertoire?

I have downloaded both the softwares and my purpose is to be well versed with openings I like. I tried Opening Trainer in 'SCID' but the user interface is too difficult to understand. I've imported thousands of pgn games into SCID but don't know how to go ahead with it. Any help with step wise instructions to train with these softwares will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
