16 moves of opening theory is NOTHING in 2020 ! Maybe 50-100 years ago it was very advanced theory , yes indeed , but now theory goes up to move 30 and it's STILL an OPENING , I'm just not sure it might be 35 moves or maybe even 40 moves possible now days, that's why I'm asking

Panov Endgame Line. The resulting endgame has been analyzed to death and goes as deep as 30-40+ moves in, so it's a good candidate.
My other guesses would be some of the sharp stuff(Najdorf, KID, etc) or something that has been played a lot for a long period of time e.g Ruy Lopez
I'm not talking about endgame line theory etc.....

I didn't read your problem properly to notice how absurd it was.
I know before a computer era, an opening would usually last 10-15 moves deep and that's it ! After that Middle game began.
Now days it's hard to imagine, that an opening lasts just 10 moves deep , especially on top level chess.
So my question is :
Basically we all know , that an openings now days last 20-25 moves easily, BUT what is the actual longest opening theory moves possible? 35 , 40 , 50 moves!? Maybe ?
PLEASE DON'T just guess answer if you really know , thx in advance.

I know for sure that 29-30 moves is possible easily, I'm just not sure if it's max or it might be 32 moves or 33 moves or maybe even 35 moves .

Semi-Slav Botvinnik has the most extensive theory.

Well 30 moves of theory are quite a lot in really complex openings. But i think super GMs know lines of the Berlin wall till move 30.
