One idea is to play g6 first and then either Nf6 or Bg7 depending on whether white plays Bg5 on move 2 or not. The purpose of the Trompovsky is to double Black's king side pawns by taking the knight on f6.

Honestly, I love playing 1. d4 Nf6 (Indian Game) as black. I’m a big fan of KID, but the Trompowsky literally ruins it all. What’s the best defense against it for a KID player?
