How to deal with french bishop

Hi - I have been playing french for almost a year, and we know that french bishops are one of the troublesome pieces in black's camp. I usually try to trade that bishop by playing the wade variation, which after playing the Qb6, you dont develop the knight, but put the bishop to d7 and then play Bb5 to trade the french bishop, by doing this i lose a lot tempi with my bishop and my queen goes to b5 square after recapturing the piece. Here I see the evaluation shifting to white's favour around +0.6.

So what is the best way to deal with the light square bishop. Is trading it in the beginning not a good strategy..?
