it's really quite simple, tell them they either start to like chess or you will wait for them on the roof and drop a pig on their heads.

aakashmistri - you're the OP. OP = original poster.

As to your question, tell your parents that chess is one of the least dangerous things to be involved in. You could've been involved with bad things such as ( in increasing order of danger): alcohol, drugs, violence, bad women. :) So, chess ain't all that bad, cheer up, keep learning & playing. Best of luck!

No violence in chess?  I was at a tournament where the players came to blows.  When I looked at the position afterwards, it was as messy as were their faces after the punch up.  The punch up actually provided more clarity than the board did.

You should never mess around with bad women until you check their rating if you cannot get hold of their bank account details.

I am not disputing what you say.  The punch up was during the game, not after.  Both players showed excellent fighting spirit.  The players were eventually separated by an international arbiter.  The loser was magnanimous in defeat.

ask your parents if they'd rather you play candy crush, agar.io, minecraft, etc.

also, have you got a job? if you don't, i'd recommend getting one and doing chess in your spare time, since i don't think you'd earn much money off chess.

Bring a girl, teach her the game, and play at your house. That would keep them quite. And let her help your mama in the kitchen. Chess will be the family's favourite past time! LOL

I make 7 dollars an hour teaching chess.

Leave home and cut all ties with your family. I did and look how far I've gone....

That is, I've left your home and cut all ties with your family.

Play outside of your house like the park or at a friends house, think outside the box my friend. There's a way out for everything except death.
