Can someone tell me what to do against this or if i shouldnt've played 5.e6

The fact is that white has lost time by this move. If you could prepare to push f5

Nd7, Ne7-c8, Be7, O-O

@Nanji: This is actually a fairly popular sideline. Playing for ...f5 is definitely not the way to combat it.

I suggest Nd7 then maybe a5 followed by a4 and Nh6, black seems to have good play.

Here's a game mentioned in Schandorff's book on the Caro Kann, it might give an example of what you could try for. I just copied the PGN so unfortunately there is no analysis.

@New_member24, you are right. With masters playing as illustrated, it is an interesting move.
