How to play the Smith-Morra Gambit?

Hello! I want to learn a new opening to play that is very agressive. I find that the Smith-Morra Gambit would fit my playing style. But how do I continue this opening? What are it's weakenesses/strengnths?

The most helpful technique is to google the previous 487 threads on this subject:

That way you can take advantage of the hundreds of hours of work that went into all those previous threads and no one need to recreate anything.

If you want to play the Smith Morra, IM Esserman wrote a good book on it for Quality Chess. I believe it won an award.

The biggest challenge to the SM gambit is the transposition into the Alapin. I used to play the Alapin and its a fun opening, but it is a little bit more on the positional side than the tactical. For the tactical player the open sicilians are your bread and butter.
