Looking at a few of your games you seem to be capable and solid. Maybe have a look at the Lion...? [Old Indian type formations] But yes, almost everyone finds it harder to play as lack than as White.

i agree. He should definitely consider the old indian/ hanham philidor/ english rat. they are solid ,involve lots of maneuvering ,fairly easy to learn and can almost be played like a system.
