If only had to choose one(caro or scandi),as a main opening, no matter who's your opponent or what's

Say if you were playing many people, club players (2100 - 2450Elo ) , some randoms for $ , without knowing their level , some might even be 2600+ rating and so on rapid games, some blitz mostly.

Which opening would give you a better chance(start) in to the closed middle game without any open space and sharp tactical blows like sicilian or e4 games for example ,  more of a positional, maneuvering, closed games with some tricks and tactics .

If you haf to choose only ONE to rely on it , no matter who you are playing.

Scandinavian defence or Caro- Kann?

The question wasn't about sicilian. But if you wish, sicilian has so much theory , that if you play someone higher rated then you most likely you are in automatic disadvantage.

Between those two? I'd say Caro-Kahn. I feel a lot more comfortable in quiet games than sharp ones.

Caro-kann. I used to play it but I don't anymore. There are many more example games to look at for a reference for how to play it. Karpov played all the time and if it's good enough for him then it's good enough for me.

If the choice is among those two then Caro. But I play e5 so do not listen to me.
