i was reading the book: chess opening essentials volume 4, and it covered f3 followed by kf2. well, i will completely refute that!!

apparently f3,kf2 is named...the Hammerschalg. well, hammerschlag, meet the bongcloud. you just got BONGED

The Hammerschlag is far too passive, while the Bongcloud quickly asserts control of the center.

christian soldier what is the point of bringing your king out if your not gonna try to centralize it??

Avatar of LAexpress12

but centralizing his king is more aggresive and correct and is good endgame insurance. tucking it in a corner is too psasive and cowardly. "you have been demoted, leutinant"

I prefer to create a central fortress variation for a solid bongcloud, develop my pieces to push back the opponents king, and to then reach the kingside pendulum.

I like to charge with a line of pawns up the centre, closely supported by my king.

Actually, I am afraid you are confused with another variation of the Bongcloud. Unless you are simply misplaying the lines, the Hammerschlag usually continues with 1. f3 e5 2. d4, not 1. f3 e5 2. Kf2. In the Hammerschlag, the King will usually not move until the third move.
