I don't have a tape. You may use one if you have or can use the easy way, which is to ask him.

When I tried broadening my horizon with 1.d4, c4 or Nf3, I suddenly started to draw most of my games as white, so I switched back to 1.e4, as I'd learned no positional play or strategy.

It's funny that when I tried broadening my horizon with 1.e4,  I suddenly started to lose most of my games as white, so I switched back to 1. c4, as I'd learned tactical play.

when I was a beginner I played a lot of games with e4 but when I started learning about openings I started to play d4 after long testing I found that colle zukertot opening suits me and after that I never looked back at e4.....

You will when youre better (not an insult) cuz e4 pwns.

I wonder when Gelfand will get good enough to play e4.

I have devoted a lot of time to study 1. e4. Yet i lose even more.

I devote less than 50% of it to study 1. d4, c4, Nf3, etc. And my rating keepa increasing.

I could be studying 1.e4 the rest of my life yet play no winning chess.

Fischer could say 1.e4 is best by test cuz he was the WC.

But if you want to enjoy chess, play others than 1. e4. Don't waste your time studying 1.e4 if you can't master it.

d4 is way better than e4. That's why I play e4.

Just let the thread die, everyone with half a brain left three or four pages ago. I am starting to wish it was possible to contract a STD from a forum thread.

Somewhere on Chess.com it says a move then it tells you if people play that move, how many percent wins, losses, and draws. It said that d4 is better.

P.S. I would rather play e4

Avatar of Cliff86rulz

Let's have fischer play his e4 against Rybka today, and we'll see who wins.

Avatar of Or_theBashaKiller

e4 and d4 are both pretty much equal .  with e4 the more chances youll get an open game and with d4 you will usually get a positional play  .

if your'e in to positional play d4 is your choice otherwise e4 will suit you better.

Yes, 1. d4 is better
