Is this a poisoned pawn? I'm totally lost

Hi everyone, it's my first time posting something on chess.com and any feedback would be appreciated. I played this game where I thought I blundered, losing a pawn. But the chess.com computer analysis says it is a mistake for Black to take the pawn. It's very complicated, and despite what the computer analysis says, I think in the future I should just protect the undefended pawn. By the way is this a "poisoned pawn"? Any suggestions on how to approach these situations? thanks!

Wow, NearHeart, this is amazing, thank you. 7. Na3 is definitely a move I wouldn't have thought of. And in the game I actually considered 13. Rb3 attacking the Queen, but I couldn't see how I could trap the Queen after Black takes pawn on a2.

This is very useful and very complicated. I think it would be a real gamble if I tried this in a real game because it's so hard to calculate all the moves, but it'd be fun to try. Thanks again!

Perhaps you need to take a step back for a second. Even if you don't have an immediate way to trap the queen, you have a massive lead in development! I would look to see if there is an immediate way to trap the queen, and if I fail to find anything concrete, I would just play 11.0-0. The queen can escape? Who cares! You have so many pieces developed and that has to be worth something. However, 11.Bc1 is a mistake if you don't have an immediate way to trap the queen. A common mistake is to think that to have enough compensation you must be able to trap the queen. Don't undevelop your pieces chasing the queen if it is not trapped. Be satisfied that your huge lead in development and their cut off queen will provide adequate compensation.

11.0-0 represents? New player here. This type review helps more people than you guys realize. As a beginner focused on opening development, I feel vindicated in my play often being far more developed that other players early on. I have no clue what to do next but I understand why and the benefit of proper development. JMB2010 made me feel better about my play. Thank you guys!

hey NearHeart thanks again and JMB2010 thanks for the advice! I totally didn't account for the lead in development -- I think the issue I'm having is that I'm too worried about not losing material. I didn't realize this until now, and maybe I need to look beyond the material count, like in this game. Also I wouldn't have thought of 11. Bc1 as an undeveloping move, but it's true... something I need to look out for in the future!

hey OrganicCloud I totally agree, I think this type of review is really useful.

hey qwerty thanks for the comment. Yeah I think in my post-game analysis (and during the game) I focused too much on trapping the queen, but what I needed was to take a step back and look at the whole position. This game was definitely a good learning experience.
