Ok so some people may be like "It is the Janowski variation" but let's keep that aside and talk about this defense for black which looks like this:

That is the Janowski-Indian Defense, I'm not sure why it's not more popular because it is a very practical defense for black. You are probably almost ready to start typing that f3 is the refutation but THAT IS NOT TRUE. This is how black gets a satisfactory game after f3 (the main line):

So as you can see black gets a good game after f3 (the main line), so what about Nf3?

That is what, I believe is black's best try against Nf3, please tell me if you think that the Janowski-Indian Defense is bad or if it should be played more often because I think it has some real possibilities in the right hands!!

Of course white does not have to fall for the trap in the last example but either way black gets good compensation for the lost pawns

I know right! The Janowski-Indian defense is very good for not even being known by most people

Interesting post. There must be some reason this isn’t played at the top level.

Also it has to be noted that against Qb3 on the fourth move Qc8 has to be played

And also AuntheKnight it has been played in nearly 800 games and black actually scores very well with it

In fact the latest games with it have been played by Daniel Naroditsky against Andrew Tang
