What's your take on the King's Indian vs Grunfeld debate?

What exactly is the debate?

They are completely different openings, almost as different as two openings can be. They only share the first two moves.

Yeah, I think the Grunfeld is more of a tactical type opening while the King's Indian is a slower, positional type opening. Although the two openings do both have a similar thematic pawn break to undermine the white center. In the Grunfeld this would be c7-c5 and in the King's Indian it would be f7-f5.

Some people I know just talk about the King's Indian and the Grunfeld all the time.  My favourite is the King's indian because its just so much fun!
