King's Indian vs Slav (or Semi-Slav) -- pros and cons?

I'm trying out different defenses against 1. d4.  I like the King's Indian.  The other day I was playing white and my (bot) opponent played the Slav (actually, Semi-Slav) defense, and we were remarkably "on-book" for like 8 or 9 moves.  Even though I was in a standard position at that time, I felt very uncomfortable as white, and it made me think that perhaps I should investigate playing it when I'm black.

So, just a shout out here for a call of opinions on what folks think of those two defenses. Pros and cons of each.

Note, I'm not trying to ask "which is best", as I assume they are both solid defenses, otherwise they wouldn't be so popular. I'm trying to find out basic theories of pros and cons of each.

Thanks.

Here's the first 13 moves of the game where black played Semi-Slav against me.

So, as I wrote above, as white, I was feeling a lot of queen side-pressure that made me pretty uncomfortable.  On top of that, the engine says that my last move was a real mistake (and I really haven't figure out why yet)

So -- in summary: I was impressed with this Semi-Slav played against me, and it made me wish I was smart enough to know -- in general -- pros and cons of this vs KID.

(And, yes, I realize that I may well be impressed with this Semi-Slav because I'm not good yet -- on the other hand, as I mentioned, it was pretty much "on book" for at least 9 moves)
