Garbage! Against the Exchange, if 4.Nc3, Black should play 4...Bb4, not 4...Nf6. 4...Nf6 works against 4.Nf3, not 4.Nc3.

Also, if 1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5 3.e5 c5 4.dxc5?!, Black should play 4...Nc6!, not 4...Bxc5

What are you rated, like, 1200 or something? Your knowledge of the French is clearly lacking, and before you try to return the question, I have played the French Defense probably over a thousand times over the board. Somewhere around 50 or so times, give or take, as White and the rest as Black.

And?

If he is 1200, he should be taking advice, not giving it. It would be like having Kaitlyn Clark (WNBA Star) repairing your engine problems.

If you aren't good, stay in your own lane and learn rather than try to teach. If he is over 2000 OTB, like me, the French is clearly not his specialty. I have played the French as my primary weapon for 29 years. You start talking French or Petroff, you are in MY wheelhouse. I won't let false information in those 2 openings go un-noticed! Same goes for the Dutch, Sokolsky, and Trompowsky.

Despite his aggressiveness, I do trust Thrillerfan's lines.

After all, I am not the one that has been playing the french for 29 years. In fact, I do not really play the French at all.

None of that really matters, though, because I am not even 29 years old...
