Leningrad Dutch

Does anyone know current and/or past GMs/IMs who play/ed the leningrad Dutch? Are there good books out there for this opening? Does anyone on this site wanna play some leningrad dutch games?

GM Vladimir Malaniuk seems to have played it quite a few times (including a loss to Anatoly Karpov).

Neil McDonald's _Starting Out: Dutch Defense_ has a section on the Leningrad.  I have not studied it but the other parts of the book are good--he emphasizes ideas rather than variations.  It's not a deep book but it's a good intro.  (He also covers the bizarre early anti-Dutch gambits, which you need to know about if you play the Dutch....)

Alright thanks like always mkkuhner. Would you care for some correspondence dutch games?

poucin

Malaniuk have just wrote a book on it, it should be preferred on McDonald's one because Malaniuk just goes into Leningrad, so what u need.

You might wanna see the game Robert Fontaine vs Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, where MVL wins using the dutch leningrad. Very, very instructive.

8.d5 is the main move. then there is ...c6, ...Nc6 and ...Qe8.  ...Qe8 is supposed to be dubious for some reason, maybe bc of b3 or e4.   after ...Nc6 follows d5 Ne5 NxN pxN and white has c5 or e4 with a small plus.  after ...c6 you get a slow positional game.  one idea for black is to play ...Na6-c7 with the idea of eventually playing ...b5.  in general black's hopes is for white to play d5 which is a fine move but allows Black to aim for a dark square strategy (put pieces on dark squares and maintain/improve them)

btw ...e4 might not be the best move in the above game but otherwise White gets easy play.  i'm quite a fan of this b3 idea against the Leningrad.  sometimes playing Ba3 and discoordinating Black's pieces a bit.

Thanks @poucin, surabayaKid, and petrosianic. I'll put that book on my to buy list (once I think I have a firm control over standard ideas I'll start studying openings)
