London for Blitz

I guess chess is a draw

Hobo_Dawg

Many of my games as black result in this queen trade where the open a-file gives black an advantage. White can instead defend the b-pawn with Qc2 or possibly even better play Nd2 at some point instead of Nf3 so that in case of 5... Qb6 6. Qb3 c4 7. Qc2, then  7...Bf5 is no longer possible.

London is a real pain in the neck for black, but this is what I play (and what stockfish likes):

Why london is pain?

I'm quite happy when i facing london as black. If you know what are you doing and your opponent doesn't then it's always easy to play )

there's no real way to spice up the position, it's always the same old thing, over and over again.

I could understand you saying this about a long symmetrical version, but you just posted a totally unbalanced and interesting position.

After I play Qb6 white almost always plays Qb3 and after c4 the queens go off and it’s closed and I don’t like it. Personal preferences

But it's well-known that London endgame preferable for black, isn't it?

yes, but I don't have to enjoy playing it.

Of course!

As for me, I like to play positions where i have an advantage happy.png

And, London endgame quite easy to play for black of you know what are you doing...

I think it's more critical to delay Nf3, and play Nd2 (to avoid this endgame)

I agree, and there's an interesting line where it's white who goes for an attack on the b-pawn and then takes on c5. Black gets the center, but it will be difficult to maintain.

Better for black in this line after Nbd2 to include cd ed and then Bf5. After that black has solid position.

No problems

I am not sure about this line, I tought white was considered slightly better after 9. Nh4 Be4 10. Nxe4 Nxe4 11. Nf3 Bd6 12. Bxd6 Nxd6 13. Bd3...

9. Nh4 Be4 10. Nxe4 dxe4!

emchel

Ok yes, I agree that 10... dxe4 is better then 10... Nxe4. But, I still think white is for choice after 11. g3 Be712. Ng2 O-O13. Be2
