So what are you playing against a6 or Qb6 when black takes the d4 pawn?

timeless_thoughts

check can you post a diagram of what your talking about and tyrese thats the whole point in the gambit is to play the Bishop to d3 and gambit your two central pawns for a huge intiative and attack on black

I only played that kind of game once chess and I lost. I didn't know what to do but the most reasonable would be to defend the e5 pawn with Re1 then,

i would play

Psychophobia

tyese-son       in that variation after   black plays ......Qd6

    white has   Nb5!..Qb8   Qf3 (threatening Bf4 winning and Qxd5) ...Bd6

   Nxd6+..Qxd6    Bf4...Qb6    Qg3(or qxd5) with a great atack

timeless_thoughts

check I think white played that wrong, he let black get the intative

checkmateisnear

how would you play after bb4?

timeless_thoughts

Probably Be3

Qxe5 is the best move. Is Black is prepared Qxe5 should really lead to a -+ position.

I once specifically played the French against a strong opponent who I knew played the Milner-Barry (only time in my life I ever played the French) and prepared Qxe5 and won in 25 moves.

Marvellosity can you post a diagram of what your talking about please
