most drawish opening in chess?

And what if someone castles queenside in exchange French? I guess that is one way to try to play for a win.

french

The berlin and petroff.

The most drawish openings in chess are the Sicilian Dragon and the Botvinnik Semi-Slav with 16.Rb1 as they are already figured out to a draw!

Just because idiot amateurs do not know the forced line does not make it any less drawish!

Lol, Sicilian Dragon is drawish? You serious?

nklristic

Dragon, really?

It seems so risky for black to play it to the point that it looks like someone will get beaten by move 20. grin.png

Yes, I am serious!  Just because some idiot does not know the forced draw does not make it any less drawish!  It makes the person that does not know it stupid for playing the dragon.  If you are going to play the dragon, you ought to know the forced draw to the end and beat White otherwise.

I literally had a game in 2000 in the Botvinnik Semi-Slav and instead of perpetual check against my king he goes 24.Nxf7?.  Later on, 35. 0-1

Wow, and I thought that dragon is probably the riskiest out of all sicilians. Good to know, thanks.

Yep!  Dragon is more drawish than the Exchange French!

Wow, talk about misconceptions. grin.png

Play the Hyperaccelerated Quantum Overdrive Dragon Omega to avoid drawish results.

no, I used to play exchange slav, I know it very well, I have a great score there

And the boor is anything but drawish

I thought the dragon lost by force

That’s what Bobby Fischer said

TeacherOfPain

Any exchanged variiation, chigorin or symmetrical variation will probably give the most draws within an openings. Typically openings that maitain equillibrium are the openings that are the most drawish, for example in the exchange slav.

Bobby Fischer also said that he might have to admit that the Winawer was sound, but that he doubted it, claiming that it was anti-positional and weakens the Kingside.  We all know that is utter BS.

Fischer was an overrated psychopath.  Had to have no audience and this and that.  He claimed 1.e4 was best by test, and yes, test shows that 1.d4 scores the highest!

Fischer was a tool, and using him as the basis for anything makes for a very weak argument.  Saying that something is refuted because Fischer says so would be like believing me when I say that ballet dancing and trick-or-treating causes cancer in laboratory animals!  You should know that such a claim is complete, utter BS and so was everything that Fischer claimed!

Over the board, Fischer is a great chess mentor to follow, but many of his claims off the board cannot be taken seriously as they were reflected through his sociopathic character (ex. his claim that women are incapable of playing good chess, etc.).

I agree Fischer's claims off the board should be took with a tablespoon of salt since he was probably mentally ill though I don't think Fischer was inherently sociopathic.
