Most Relyable Openings/Defences?
Just play the latvian gambit as black. MyCO gives it an advantage to black. 1.e4 e5 2. Nf3 f5!?
My job here is done.

thank you sir
My favourite is the first pawn on King's side. It goes in the middle and controls the center.
The bishop can move around, then you can use your Knight and then Castle. You deploy 3 powers in 4 moves.
yes guys i know what openings im going to use im not THAT unprepared. i was wondering if you guys had any suggestions i may not be aware of, or some support in using the openings i already use :)

You're still missing the point. Besides some specific idea in an opening you're already familiar with, you should not even consider looking at any opening options that you "may not be aware of" a week before a major tournament.
If, instead, your question is something to the effect of "I know both the French and the Sicilian, which should I use against 1.e4 in a serious tournament where I just need to hold draws as Black", then that's a valid question, but you need to provide which openings you are familiar with.

ok i apoligize, i am familiar with both the sicilian and the french, which should i use against e4? i am also familiar with queens gambit, english opening, reti, and kings pawn, i love to attack with all my pieces developed, which would you reccomend?
In that case, I would say that against 1.e4 you should play the French if you need a solid result where you won't get killed, and the Sicilian in any matches as Black where you feel you should really push for a win. Against d4, I'm really only familiar with the KID, so I can't help you too much comparing different openings, sorry.
As White, I would say e4 is a no-brainer if you like to attack, but don't play it unless you're prepared to play against the Sicilian theory.
