I have a great opener for you it gets the queen is a good place to attack or defend.
Need an opener!

can you people post the move-by-move so i kno how it gets to this position, it looks like black only moved 3 times and white has moved several

Not sure what opening has been recommend but the knight are on the edge of the board and usually knights like to be as close to the center as possible. Not sure why white would do this opening. And as for black it looks like the french defence, I just read an article on the french defense by a chess.com user named Mizant you should search out that article and this guy he is a FIDE master that can help strengthen your chess.
Are you looking for an opening for white or a defense for black?

Hello Here is a good article to read on the French defense.
If your looking for good attacking lines for white hedghog is good if you like hypermodern stuff. It can be played for white or black. English is also a good opening that uses a night in the center.
There is thechesswebsite on you tube that can provide a lot of good openings.

best openings include:
for white
- king's gambit (1. e4 e5 2. f4)
- scotch game (1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. d4)
- italian game (1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bc4)
- grand prix attack (1. e4 c5 2. Nc3 d6 3. f4)
for black
- sicilian najdorf (1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 d6 3. d4 cxd4 4. Nxd4 Nf6 5. Nc3 a6
- scandinavian (1. e4 d5 2. exd5 Qxd5 3. Nc3 Qa5)
- benoni (1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 c5 3.

I recommend the Sicilian. I prefer French Sicilians (2. e6), and my favorite variation is the Sicilian Kan Wing Attack. 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 e6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 a6 5.Nc3 b5

evan's gambit is the s#it! i love it! however, you might find that many people do not play into that line as black (i.e. you'll rarely see 3...Bc5)
I recommend, if you are white, that your first move should be 1.e4 or 1.d4. Personally I like 1.e4 better because is frees a diagonal for both your white bishop and queen. Try to find some opportunity to do d4 sometime as well .
Usually, if my opponent does 1.e4 when I'm black, I do 1...e5
Here, white usually plays 2.Nf3, and black has two really good moves to do here:
2...Nf6 (Petroff Defense)
2...Nc6
After the latter move, white can play 3.Bb5 (Ruy Lopez), 3.Bc4. After the latter move, black can do 3...Bc5 (Giuoco Piano) or 3...Nf6 (Two Knight's Defense). White can also play 3.Nc3, and black can play 3...Nf6 (Four Knights Game) and then white can do 4.d4 (Scotch Four Knights)
White can also do 3.d4 (Scotch Game)
Variation of Petroff Defense:
Be careful of this trap!
Variation of Ruy Lopez:
Careful of this trap also!

Rather than trying to find an opening that 'attacks' like the Evans gambit, that also tends to blow up in your face - you would be better served learning something solid that you can learn well and is not easily busted by a knowledgeable opponent. Learn something you can stick with as your game grows, the Italian game for example. It can be very sharp and attacking or ir can be played quietly - remember, your opponent has a say in how your opening will play out.
I play e4, so I end up playing the Italian or occasionaly the bishop/Vienna against e5, and I play the GPA (mentioned above) against c5.
With black, I play the Caro-Kann against e4, and the Nimzo-Indian against d4.
In all honesty, any opening you can learn to play well, will suit your needs at this level.

im looking for an attacking White opener and a good defensive black opener
Here you go:

I've been playing chess for a long time but I do NOT have an opener really, I just do what feels good. I think if i got an opener I would be an even better player.I like to attack alot and uses knights and discovered attacks. I've just began my hunt for an opener and the Evan's Gambit looks pretty good to me but what are the strengths/weaknesses?
On another note, any openers that attack alot and use knights that I should look in to? Any help would be appreciated.
They are way over your (and mine) head but take a look at these:
Hikaru Nakamura:

Alexander Morozevich:

If you make an account you could look at both players opening repertoar, copy paste into your brain and have fun
(I wish that would work)
