Oh. I just try to connect my rooks by move 10. That's about the extent of my opening preparation. In the end, everyone will have to resort to playing chess.

The Philidor is okay but not for her/him! Its to passive and hard to play for black when you are Not a really strong player.
There is no good opening for weak Players...in lower levels you can play 1.f3 and 2.Kf2 and it doesnt matter...
Sorry but No. A weak player wont lose in less than 20 moves against me if he plays a normal and solid opening. But the Main point is that weak players have no chance to improve if they play trash openings. If you start with a sound opening you always get the same structures and you will learn a lot about the plans and pawn structures in this positions. Cheers
I was under the impression that Fischer's Bust was bust, Oogie.
It is theoretically black's best bet against the KG, it isn't a true refutation per se, and there are some mistakes from white's side (even Fischer makes them, even with the luxury of being able to move the pieces at his leisure) in his line, but even with white's improvements black has the better practical chances and white will have a tougher time. Even then there are other great options for black if he doesn't want to go into the Fischer for some reason: 3...Be7 3...Nf6 and even the good old 3...g5 and those are just the accepted lines. 2...d5 2...Bc5 and even 2...Nc6 and 2...Nf6 can give black a great game too.
This is the biggest joke ever. Strictly from a theoretical standpoint, 1...e5 is only the best move for Black!
Going based on "results", the Sicilian may score the highest, but that's because of the high risk, high reward aspect of lines like the Najdorf. 1...e5 is the safest of all moves for Black, and if Black is content with a draw, he should have no problems here.
Another poster mentioned about defining bad for White as being equal, and if that's the case, the Ruy and one other line he mentioned were "equal".
Uhm, there's a reason why in tournament play, while 1.e4 is still played heavily at the top levels, you see more and more 1.d4. You look at say, an Under 1600 section, and the bulk of the games are 1.e4 with a sprinkle of a few 1.d4 and Flank Openings. As you get higher up, that percentage goes up for 1.d4, 1.Nf3, 1.c4, etc, and the percentage for 1.e4 goes down. There's a reason for that!
There's also a reason why 1.d4 in large databases scores 56% for White while 1.e4 only scores 54%. Hint Hint. It's a better move! Not saying 1.e4 is bad, or unsound, but the age old question is chess has been answered. What is the best move in the starting position? 1.d4! Now the question becomes, is it a win for White or a draw with best play. Nobody has figured that out yet!
