Nimzo-Indian vs QGD

Why should anyone play the Queen's Gambit declined, Slav, or Semi-Slav when the Nimzo-Indian scores better? Do any GM's ever play d5 vs d4 to play for a win or do they play it as a safe option for a draw? I was surprised at how much better the Nimzo-Indian scored compared to d4 d5.

Not sure what your source is or if you are even figuring it out right (many on here do not).
If you were to use 365chess and select the masters database rather than the big database (big database includes garbage played by chumps), 1.d4 d5 2.c4 e6 scores 44.1% for Black, 1.d5 Nf5 2.c4 e6 scores 45.1 for Black. Remember, White is not forced to play 3.Nc3, so could end up Catalan, QGD, QID, Bogo, etc.
Black's score is Black win percentage plus half the draw percentage, so if you have 40 percent wins for White, 30 percent draws, and 30 percent Black wins, Black scores 45%.
