Just wanted to know your opinion about that opening: 1.e4 Nc6 2.d4 e5 According to game statistics, it has more than 50% of black winrate among amateur players (<2200 elo) and a very decent of 31% of black winrate among master players (after 1.e4 e5 black has 45% of winrate among amateurs and 21% among masters)

It’s obviously not that good but it’s not completely unsound. Probably just a decent surprise weapon that would be good in blitz but not classical.

I am having trouble with this variation and wanted advice

I can turn it into a King’s Indian after h6 g5 Ng6 d6 Bg7 and Nf6.  What I want to do is put the bishop on c5 or pinning a knight on b5 then play d6 and get the knights on g6 and f6 like I do in other variations.  But if I do this, the pawn on e5 drops.

Could an early c6 and moving the queen over to a5 or something get me into familiar territory?  What’s the best way to play this?  I’m not great at the kings Indian.

I see that you are 1.e4 player. You can play 2. Nf3 and try to get Scotch, Italian or Ruy Lopez(whatever you prefer) by transposition if he plays 2.e5. It would be as if you have played:

If he plays something like e6 or d6 declining the transposition, then you play d4 and go from there, but in any case you can offer the transposition with 2.Nf3 if you feel comfortable with e4 e5 openings where you play Nf3 on a second move.
