I looked at it but I cannot sac the Q in the opening unless there is a forced mate.
I have a column at chessville called "The Search for Dragons and Mythical Chess Openings", where I explore unknown gambits and strange new openings. Also belong to the Yahoo Unorthodox Chess Openings Newsgroups. The players there have all kinds of crazy ideas in the openings.

The Omega Gambit is really dangerous because even I cannot defend
against the Omega Gambit. See game attached where I got ambushed
by a player from China.

why don't we see it at GM level darthmusashi do you have any GM level play in your database

DarthMusashi

I do have 1 game with a GM level game in my database with the Omega Gambit. this was by GM Nick Defirmian, however his opponent did not take the gambit pawn and this transposed back into regular lines. This does not count as an Omega Gambit.

We may not see the Omega Gambit played at the GM level yet until a GM is defeated by the Omega Gambit. But this may be difficult because GM's are very highly skilled tactically so there is little chance they will go down to the Omega against someone not as strong. Also GM's are very leery about taking gambit
pawns. It is safer for them to decline the gambit.

The players below master are willing to play the Omega because they have nothing
to lose against a much stronger opponent.

i got a checkmate with this gambit, i think the point of this gambit is to checkmate your opponent with diagonals

1. e4 nf6 2. d4 nxe4 3. f3 nf6 4. nc3 d5 5. bd3 g6 6. bf4 bg7 7. nge2 nc6 8. O-O O-O 9. bg5 nh5 10. g4 nf6 11. nf4 Qd6 12. nfxd5 Qxd5 13. nxd5 nxd5 14. bc4 bxd4+ 15. kh1 ne3 16. Qd2 na5 17. rfe1 naxc4 18. Qxd4 h6 19. bxh6 re8 20. Qg7#

This gambit is nothing like the smith-morra. The smith-morra will probably be refuted in the future even. This doesn’t even get a lead in development. It just blunders a Pawn. Honestly I think that it doesn’t deserve a name.

Conversation between two GMs:

GM1: Here's a cool chess problem. After 1.d4 nf6, what is the worst possible move to play.

GM2: 2.a4?

GM1: nope

GM2: 2.g4?

GM1: nope

GM2: 2.e4!

GM1: Yes! You give away a central pawn for no compensation!!!
