I think you r not theoretically prepared grunfeld player black is alway consider better at any endgame due to thier pawn majority and in middle game black just focusses on breaking open white center while whites plan is too maintain the center and go for some king side kill

What are you on? If you check my Semi-Slav study, you will see how wrong that is. The Semi-Slav is so interesting, I'm going to make a part 3 to the study because of how many variations there are. And I'm not talking about that stupid Queen's Gambit Declined that Anna Cramling plays.

I think I am happy with grunfeld and qgd one solid one dynamic and anyway iam blessed enough to learn grunfeld from swidler why the hell should I study semi slav

I like the Modern Defence-Pterodactyl line because I’m a Sicilian Dragon player.

A close friend of mine/2300 player suggested e6, d5 and c5 to get a French/Taimanov structure being a Sicilian Taimanov player herself and I’m sure French players can relate as well. This  would cut out a lot theory for French and Taimanov players.

I guess it comes down to are you equalizing out of the opening with a playable or enjoyable middle game?

I attest to the Pterodactyl lines!
In fact, the modern defense with C5 immediately after activating the king's bishop is the top engine move in many lines.

But the QGD and Slav approaches are also positionally incredible.

Thanks!

I like it for the imbalance and little theory.
