I agree with the bit about the French and the Tarrasch, but man the Queen's Gambit is easy to play.
Especially the Exchange Variation.
If you know what you're doing, White has a comfortable game with easy plans almost every time. That's my experience, at least. Hardly anyone plays 1...P-Q4 against me OTB anyway.
If you are old enough to fondly remember that notation, you are old fart like me. I had mostly avoided that structure, as white or black. So I decided to learn it and play it as much as possible, no matter the color. Strengthen your weaknesses so to speak.
Ugggg I am like 1 and 6 right now.
I don’t know what it is, maybe the tactics are off for me, or just unfamiliar, or stupid. Ok probably stupid, but it seems like I get good position but they are always knife-edged. I will go up a pawn, but wow am I suffering for it, destroy his center but a ready made blockade of my center is waiting.
Anyone else thinking being on the White side of a queens gambit, or with black a Tarrasch or French is hard work (I actually enjoy the exchange French go figure)?
