What is the best continuation here for white? Is it 10 exf6 Qe5+ 11 Be2 Qxg5 12 0-0 or is it better to play 10 Qe2 Nfd7 11 and castle queenside 0-0-0?

10 exf6 Qe5+ 11 Be2 Qxg5 12 0-0 by far. Polugaevsky's a needlesharp variation and giving black time to finish his developement is hardly justified.
Black has other ways to respond to 10 Qe2 than Nfd7 as well. Trying to slow the game down and castle on the queen side where black is already advancing his pawns is walking right into Polugaevsky's plans.
