punish the French with the nice scoring Alapin Diemer Gambit! (basic theory tree)

grandmaster parrots can hate on gambits all they want and call them "unsound", but here's me dispatching an 1841 in just NINE MOVES in the Icelandic gambit, which I've since dropped and have returned to my FAMILIAR scandinavian gambit which performs better and ISN'T a "pavnov transfer" until WHITE transposes to the pavnov. oh I hate that renaming!

initiative is NOT to be underestrimated! look the youtube video up where a mere 1700 crushes a GRANDMASTER with the "unsound smith morra gambit"

all I do is attack. OH I'm sooo sick of the stonewall straight jacket! I do OK in it, but it's the opposite of fun in the center

here's me beating an 1850 in just 21 moves WINGING IT, without any theory, but what I might have recalled subconsciously from trying to learn the icelandic decades ago, but never taking to it

there goes your "lower rated players" theory! in fact, I find higher rated players EASIER to play against because they play nice quiet lines and don't trip me up like low rated players with their weird little systems. I held an 1800 rating for 85 games straight! It drives me nuts that I gotta play 1600s with their out of book crap I can't figure out.

looking at my EARLY games, I was typically beating 1800s in about 25 moves, especially in king's gambit... my comfort zone. none of my wins were against the french.

higher rated players give up too easy too. I was looking at a win against an 1800 who gave up over a 2 pawn disadvantage. I'll scrap for a win from 8 pawns down often enough. evaluations take WILD swings under 2000

looking at another 1800 I beat, he blundered 4 times to my 2.

useless THEORY as only half a dozen players have made THAT MOVE! you're talking about a STATISTICAL ANOMALY! if everyone played it, then it would be RELEVANT, IT ISN'T!

you aren't punishing ANYONE with your stockfish analysis. meanwhile, in the real world, the theory holds up. NICE TRY mr. woulda coulda shoulda, but didn't

55:43 = killer STATS... what actually happens, not your FANTASY involving games that NEVER HAPPEN...

"oh no! i shouldn't play this GAMBIT (gambiteers LIVE for risk and double edged games!) because for every 1,700 players i mostly beat, half a dozen will make the best move! ohhhh... I'm sooooo fuhreekin' scared!"

HAHAHAHA!

meanwhile, back in the REALO WORLD, my stats are already improved

NEVER in this game did my opponent EVER have an advantage. I kept blowing mine, but I won it my way, and even pulled off a lot of "best moves" if not all of them

I'm quite proud that I stayed either "in book" or followed the strongest moves up to move 11 where I've already lost the game much of the time being clueless about openings. I have a WORKABLE system now I can wrap my head around, and it ties in PERFECTLY with my gedult gambit vs scandinavian (which needs work) and my maroczy fantasy. I'm an f pawn pusher. I live for open f files and attacks on f7. whoever can hate this line all they want, but it outperforms black's WEAK REPLIES more often than not, and it just suits my style versus imploding behind the dreaded carokan pawn chain. i'll toss a knight or a bishop at 2 fianchetto pawns any day. i DESPISE pawns. i want them out of the way. I had SO MUCH breathing room in this game. that's how i find my attacks. I expect my results to improve even more as I start getting used to this even if french COWARDS run from gambits with their skirts hiked and screaming like little girls. I had to give the monte carlo up because of it.

they have THEIR hide behind their pawns preferences, and I have my rip 'em out in the open and fight like a man way

Instead of all that nonsensical mumbojumbo, you could simply write:

Unfortunately I am a poor guy, and I can only afford cheap drugs.

yes, this is true. that's the whole POINT of MY theory... punishing as many amateurs for their mistakes (very often, the HERD makes the SAME mate in 1 mistake more than the only correct move) as possible playing the moves that perform the strongest. it's simply going with WHAT WORKS and what actually happens, not theoreticals less likely than having a pig fall on one's head.

haters... try playing gotham chess whose videos cover pretty much the same "punish amateurs (and GM too) mistakes" territory. i'm sure his 2700 rating would be no problem for you, or jonathan schrantz or remote chess academy either. 2 more high rated players going where the REAL theory is and not WASTING TIME studying for moves no one plays.

as a LOGICAL mastermind, I deal with busted "emotional thinking" daily and have grown to accept cognitive dissonance as just the way people are. you can show them FACTS, but there's no confirmation bias in it.

I remember BEGGING anyone to share an AMATEUR GAMES database DECADES AGO precisely because that's where all the REAL WORLD theory GMs can't be bothered to cover because it's "beneath their ratings" is. I'm still super whizzed at wasting money on a scandinavian book because 2.e5 was driving me crazy and all i got was a "play an early ...Bc5 and you'll be fine" NO! NO I WON'T! I quit playing chess because of that and the stonewall straightjacket that STILL drives me nuts when i should be playing the albin.

If you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself. i don't understand position. I'm 110% an attacker. any positional concepts in my head are subliminal and experience based. I'm happy to build theory THAT WORKS copying all the "smart kids that aced the test's homework".

that game where I CRUSHED that carokann using what i could remember and generally playing a decent, if not perfect game solved MY PROBLEMS. the theory might not be for you. I was just trying to share it so the next person doesn't have to waste a week or more studying EVERY opening they need to prepare against.

the theory is for attackers and gambiteers, not grandmasters or GM cosplayers.

the rest of you can play your WEAK performing 48:48 and 33:33:33 boring quiet lines because they're objectively stronger, if not as EFFECTIVE in the real world. I DESPISE those positional theme based lines. if there's no teeth in an opening, i'll do terrible with it. if there are traps and tactics, that's MY TURF.

underestimate attackers all you want haters... become another +8% statistic. BTW, the database is based around pairing EQUAL opponents. any argument about player strength to try and deny THE FACTS is entirely fallacious. until one's playing near perfect masters, gambits are a powerful tool, and even GM can get pwned

WHAT? WHAT? WHAT?!!!

this is me doing ME

in looking at my recent carokann games, I tried to play a maroczy, but it became a rasa studier because i delayed f3, then it became a ziegler BDG, and I did very well in it following my open f file loving bent. I made zero blunders and only a few inaccuracies because it fit MY STYLE. this was against a 1724

my rating was 1624 in this game. BDG/alapin diemer/maroczy-fantasy = a nicely matched trio that transposes... killing three openings with one f pawn, so to speak. that's ANOTHER reason to love the opening. I wish I knew this stuff a DECADE ago when i wanted to start playing the BDG against the sicilian as recommended to me by a 2200 cab driver who is a diehard BDGer who actually beat deep blue with it in a blitz game in the 90s.

it's not the opening that matters, it's how you use it. BDG siblings are my new life partners. when i master those as well as I have the king's gambit which I score nicely in, i'll only have woes playing the stonewall and scandinavian if i don't ever get rid of those.

repertoire revamping is a lot of work! to play one new opening, you need to learn half a dozen or more others.

these "unsound gambits" let me do my pitbull on a pork chop thing. THIS is what i live for! ROMANTIC games... not long boring 60 moves yawnfests. when i'm in the zone, i play miniatures.

if I could just remember to play 5.Nf3 in EVERY smith morra, i'd be winning in THAT 57:43, but half the time i play 5.Bc4 where i'm at just 25%. I just REALLY like to get my bishop on c4 asap, and the Nxc3 is triggering it like I've already played Nf3 i guess. no more Bc4 until it's time!
