Question on the KID

He should have played ...d6 before to prevent this. I think the best move now is 4...Ng8.

Anyway, after 2.Nc3 it's not going to be a KID anymore. Most people would opt for 2...d5 to "punish" white's omission of c2-c4, but transposing to the Pirc is fine too -- if you play 2...d6 or 3...d6 to prevent e4-e5.

No, I didn't mean the QID at all. I simply meant to say that the KID (that you mention in the subject) has White playing 1.d4 and 2.c4 (sometimes in a slightly different order). Since your game has 2.Nc3, there won't be any c4 and it's not a KID.

I don't think this has a name. But if you were to include 2...d6 or 3...d6, then it'd be a Pirc.
