I am an aggresive player, who doesn't like to play cramped positions.I am very good at tactics and I like dynamic positions.I think the Sicilian Najdorf is the best choice for me. Please, if you know a good book, tell me.Wink

I hope you can help me. Thanks in advance!Laughing

You should play the petroff it fits your tastes perfectly.

proppolis

I don't know about the petroff too much. Please explain your point.

e4 e5 nf3 nf6 nxe5 nxe4 qe2 qe7 qxe4 d6 d4 dxne5 dxe5.  Draw agreed.

Look at Gelfand's games for more explanation he almost won world championship bro.

I also agree with 4 knights.  I main that bro.

I don't like easy draws (except i have a bad position, there is a dead draw or my opponent has a higher rating than me.

or main the hippo

I like the Pirc (taking a moment out of this thread to post seriously). You need to play actively or you'll be crushed, but you get exciting games.

dude the point of chess is to draw.  Why do you think all the grandmasters do this?

You should also look into the hippo's cousin: The hedgehog.

proppolis

I also like dynamic chess, so i am trying to play as actively as i can, but there are some little problems in Pirc Defence that i don't like . I prefer more to play French, Caro-Kann, Open games and Sicilians.

proppolis

redmanchess, you don't understand i like to play for the win (in positions i can), but if not possible, i can accept a draw.

redchessman

Playing for a win is mean to the other person.  If you want to become a strong player you have to improve your drawing technique.  Look at Wesley So.  He is 2700 fide and makes a draw in 6 moves with black.  That is skill.

GM John Nunn wrote 2 books:

Complete Najdorf

The Complete Najdorf 6.Bg5

Updates, TN's, etc. requires subscriptions to professional player publications.

Transpositions by White away from the Najdorf are not covered.

UIUCBoss

Najdorf is a draw

Najdorf isn't just a draw.  The Bg5 lines are a FORCED draw.

proppolis

redmanchess, you don't understand nothing. You must outplay your opponent, that's the point of playing chess. And to make a draw in 6 moves is not a skill. If I am a 2700 rated player and i am playing a 1500 rated player, i offer him a draw on move six, and ,of course,he will accept. Who is losing?
ME!

transpo, thanks for your suggestion but Nunn's books are out-dated. I think Grandmaster Repertoire 6:Sicilian Defence by Ftacnik is the best book for Najdorf players.

I don't understand nothing?  of course I don't understand nothing because that means I understand everything.  Grammar police in the house!

To get a draw in Bg5 lines in Najdorf you must know theory so it isn't an easy draw. And the same situation arise in the other variations of the Najdorf.
