Reti and English trouble

Hello chess.com members.

I play d4 as white and as black i play the caro-kann against e4 and the grunfeld against d4.  The caro and grunfeld both lead to postions i am very comfortable with and where players of my ability often make serious opening mistakes.  My trouble is with the Reti and the English opening which some players in my club have taken up against me to avoid my favorite lines.  I tend to try to transpose into a grunfeld but i usually end up in weird positions i dont know how to play or into terrible KID like positions where i never get equallity or good counterplay. Does anyone have any advice on how to transpose into a system i am familiar with or advice on a strong pure english or reti system as black?

Probably simplest to learn some c5 system, then one use by Grischuk in recent candidates quite nice. So 1.c4 c5 , or 1Nf3 Nf6 2c4 c5. Otherwise can easily get move-ordered to a 1.d4 line don't play.

thanks for the response TwoMove, unfortunatly i think your right and i need to lean more openings which is sad because i have spent so much time working with 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 g6

anyone know of a good repotoire book on the symetrical engliosh with black?

Think Richard Pallister as a book on line with c5 and then e5 mentioned in "Beating unusal openings" from a few years back.
