1.Nf3 d4 2.c4 Though there are other ways to reach a Reti position.

A typical line in this position goes 1.Nf3 d5 2.c4 c6 3.b3 Nf6 4.Bb2 Bf5 5.g3 with Bg2 to come.

Reti was known to control key central squares with pieces rather than pawns.
