Scandinavian Defense: Bronstein Variation

Stick with 3...Qd6! and buy a book entitled "Scandinavian Defence - The Dynamic 3...Qd6" by Michael Melts.

As an indication of how impressive a work it is on this opening, GM Ian Rogers read it with a view to writing the forward for it. He not only wrote the forward, he supplied a postscript.

I have several games in this line that I have played recently. The big attraction is that there isn't a lot of theory and Black gets a playable game with a few simple ideas.

See, this game is much more along my ideas...very quick development by Black with ideas like Bg4, which is provocative..and with a6, then Nc6, and preparing 0-0-0.  I know, that may sound crazy, but it seems right to me.

Make an Amar thread!

NOTE: I AM NOT IN ANY WAY TRYING TO REFUTE EITHER OF THE GM'S PLAY.

I think 5. ...Bf5 is better, planning Nd7

The white d pawn forced the fianchetto of the bishop, if e6 and c6 were played earlier then this could have been avoided.

I did make a thread on the Amar.  Click on my name, and then you will see the thread I have made, "The Amar - An Unusual Opening".  No one else has yet contributed to the theory, but I tell you, I got a winning middlegame position against my friend (who is around 1500-1600) with the opening because he didn't know any lines against it, and so he played a bit unsure against it.  At best, White can be at least equal (unless Kasparov is sitting across the table!) :-).  So anyway, I would like if people would stop by that thread and maybe try it a couple of times, see what they think, any new weird ideas or fun games to post!  When I get my own internet, I will probably play a few myself and post some wins and losses for sport.
