My friend usually opens up with these moves.

He is threatening g5 and then my knight needs to move and then he checkmates. What do I do?

odessian

A lot of options:

Na5, h6, g5

giantrobot

Nd4 should work out well for you.

PurplePuppy

How about 5. ... d5!? 6. exd5 Bxg4

Fishes

or even d6 followed by Bg4. Nd4 looks best though.

Fishingpoletrap

thanks for your advice

In your trap Am#s, after Qb3 black should simply play d5, if pawn takes, take with your Queen, I mean, your up a bishop for a pawn early and white is not at all developed.

Chess_Enigma

nd4 followed by nxe4 wins a pawn I think.

Rich states "black is fine" in a position where black has no developing moves even though he has 3 undeveloped pieces and hasn't castled. You can't honestly believe this line is best for black.

Loomis

Very, deep, insightful analysis of the position rich. Oh wait, I get it, that was an April fools joke.

Loomis

Do you really think that black has played ideally in a position where he has no good moves? Black is ok because white hasn't played well either, but look at some of the other suggestions in this thread. They are better than your suggestion.

PrismaK

How about a gambit?
