In many variations of the accelerated dragon, the d pawn is played to d5 around the 10th move. Hence, no backward d pawn. This is one of the features of this variation of the Sicilian.

In the Sicilian Defence, the backward and weak d-pawn is usually a problem later on in the game, I feel that is the only real drawback of the sicilian. Anyone else have this problem? Best way to deal with it?
